Lifelong Learning in the Sarasota Spirit
What do you like most about Sarasota? If it is the art and music, the out-of-doors, or our great people and events, then PSA is the right place for you. We are a lifelong learning organization passionate about all these things and more.
Stan Nikkel, Dean of Faculty, hunts for the learned people in our community who can teach. They are retired and non-retired professors in every field but also our orchestra players and jazz musicians, our circus artists, art critics, scientists and nature lovers.
Stan challenges this diverse group of experts to put together classes —four, six and eight weeks long, running through fall, winter, and spring terms— to instruct, entertain and exercise the brains of people like you who seek intellectual challenge, fun, and a chance to interact with other lifelong learners of Sarasota.
Taking classes at PSA is not only about gathering facts but also about delving into ideas and thinking anew about the arts, government, Latin America, medicine, nanotechnology, science, sports, film, history, nature, economics, and even spirituality or the secrets of chocolate. Lifelong learning is an adventure and, with PSA, the adventure is right at your doorstep with classes at five locations in Sarasota and Manatee County.
PSA offers intellectual challenge, fun, and a chance
to interact
with other lifelong learners of Sarasota.
You are invited to browse our course catalog and read our story. You are also invited to attend the free lectures, given by our faculty members in Sarasota this November. And, you can always contact one of us if you have questions. We would love you to join us on the lifelong quest of learning.
